Surprise your family and friends with a delicious bottle of wine with a custom label. About this wine: The wines of Oude Kaap find their origin in the beautiful Franschhoek Valley where since 1693 the steep Drakenstein Mountains have played an important role in producing quality wines. Determination, persistence, passion, and innovation have also shaped winemaking on the estate and this heritage continues to be honored by a new generation of wine producers. In creating Oude Kaap wines, the winemakers use only the best fruit from the region as the essence of good wine is the fruit. To determine which grapes should be selected for Oude Kaap wines, the winemakers from this estate maintain intensive contact with growers and use a very strict selection process. The wine is made from the dark Pinotage grape. The pale pink color is acquired by leaving the juice in contact with the grape skins for only a short period of time, that way the skins only give a certain amount of their color to the juice. It is a fairly dry rosé, but it still has a lively taste. The flavor, with characteristics of strawberry and raspberry, is still very much present in the smooth finish.
